There goes that word again, FEAR which means FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL!
I believe fear comes to stop us from living the life that God has always created for us to live.
Rather you want to be an entrepreneur, travel around the world, live as a missionary in Asia or just being your authentic self, you know deep inside of your heart, God is calling you to play bigger in your life. God is always challenging us to come up higher in our thought life. Our thoughts, is were the real battle is taking place.
I know this all to well, because I use to be plagued with the spirit of fear. When you decide to listen to that authentic voice inside of your heart, it is another voice trying to stop you from becoming what you are destined to be.
At each level you want to change, there is a mindset that has to be broken off and conquered.
I am convinced that fear is implanted through your past experiences, a distorted vision and through outcomes that were not favorable for you. Fear is also Satan’s tactic to paralyze the human heart. God created us to live Bold and Courageous!
God knows that if we get a true vision of our future that we would be unstoppable. I think, if God showed us what that all entails, we could possible run in a different direction and give up the dream all together.
So in our carnal uncertainty of what the future holds for us, we have to rely on the wisdom and encouragement that our Heavenly Father gives us in his word (The Holy Bible).
Here are 6 scriptures that helped me to overcome fear at the time it was surfacing.
“Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.” Deuteronomy 3:22
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
“Tell everyone who is discouraged, Be strong and don’t be afraid! God is coming to your rescue…” Isaiah 35:4
“Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” Luke 12:22-26
It really doesn’t matter how you opened the door to fear, all that matters now, is that you close the door on fear every time it wants to surface.
God has called you to live with FEARLESS COURAGEOUS CONFIDENCE and to trust him for your future. I talk a lot about this in a book I wrote 25 ATTITUDES YOU MUST HAVE FOR A BREAKTHROUGH! Chapter 22 goes in-depth, encourages you and show you how to live with FEARLESS CONFIDENCE.
The definition of COURAGE is: 1. The quality of the mind or spirit that enable a person to face anything without fear. 2. The heart as the source of emotion. 3. To act in accordance with one’s own belief in spite of one’s criticism.
It takes courage to go through the process of being counted for! Your life matters. Fear is torment. Regardless of how big or small the fear is, it has to be defeated if you want to go to the next level in your life. You might fear flying, spiders, rejection, speaking in front of an audience or never getting married.
Whatever the fear is, if you truly want to walk a life of freedom you are going to have to say goodbye to fear.
In order to overcome fear like Joyce Meyers says, “you just have to do it afraid.”You can not allow fear to have power over you. I want you to listen to Kirk Franklin Song HELLO FEAR and after listening to it, I want you you to tell the spirit of fear FAREWELL, GOODBYE, SO LONG!
In 25 ATTITUDES YOU MUST HAVE FOR A BREAKTHROUGH in Chapter 22, I give 10 attributes that fearless people have and I want to share them with you. I talk about what each one of these attributes means in my book.
1. Fearless people do not down play their abilities
