Let me ask you a question, are you living an intentional life?
Living an intentional life is all about how you are showing up in your life and the choices you are making or not making for your life. I want to talk to you in this blog post about living an intentional life in your heart.
As I take inventory of my own life, all I can do, is thank God for helping me to recognize my need for redemption. My relationship with God has exposed the true intentions of my heart and it has also exposed the true intentions in hearts of others around me.
I want to share Hebrews 4:12-13 with you. When I got a real revelation of this scripture text, it changed the way I showed up in my life.
The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.…
This scripture is saying that when we read the Holy Bible, which is God’s word, it reveals and expose the true intentions within the human heart. The word of God penetrates through your mind, your will and your emotions. It cuts through the hidden agendas that you try to hide from yourself and others.
The word of God also exposes when you are thinking wrong thoughts. We can try to hide our heart from others, but God, being an all knowing God sees everything that we think, say and do.
When I received revelation of the scriptures, some things really changed for me. I want to share with you what changed for me.
I no longer hid. I did not have to hide from God and I didn’t have to hide from myself. I learned to always be honest with myself and honor what I am always feeling and acknowledge it to God. I have learned to share my feelings with others if asked of me, and if someone has violated me in anyway, tell them what is on my heart.
I have learned that I should check my own spirit if it gets out of order, or God is going to check it for me. He already knows the truth, so there is no need hiding anything from him.
It changed the way I showed up in my life and with others. This scripture taught me to reveal the real reason I want something from others up front. It taught me to not ask questions with the wrong motives of really seeking something else. Just say what I want from others and be up front. If I wanted to know about something, just ask for that information from that person.
I make sure I have checked in with the Holy Spirit, so I can make sure that my motives and my intentions are in the right place.
Being intentional means respecting boundaries. Yours and other people boundaries. I have realized that people do not know their boundaries when their heart is in the wrong place and when their motives are impure. But that is another blog post all together.
When you give your life to Christ, some things just do not fall off of you right away, that is why grace abounds to every believer that put their full trust and confidence in him. But you should be allowing the word of God to cleanse you on a regular basis and as you do, layers and layers of things will be revealed to you, especially in your heart.
Proverbs 14:12 reads, there is a way that seems right to a man but it’s end is the way of death.
Matthew 15:18-20 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”
From these scriptures, it is letting us know that when we are not living an intentional life, we are operating in these sins of the flesh and these things are in our hearts.
We can be saved sanctified tongue talking believers, working in ministry and doing the Lords work and have a heart full of wrong intentions. Before we can live an intentional life. We must examine ours hearts and be intentional in the way we show up in our lives and the lives of others. Especially if we want to win others trust.
So, there are some intentional things that I have put in place for myself and my family. So here is my
Intentional List:
I intend to stay present, stay connected and show up in my life, my marriage, and my kids life. I intend to add lots of fun, laughter, communication and to love them fully.

I will intentionally dress my body in modesty and seek compliments only from the two men that means the most to me in my life. Well, three men that means the most, let me not forget my Dad. But, I only seek compliments from two. God and my husband.
