Have you every thought about adding an orientation packet to your homeschool? What is a orientation packet and why should you include one in your homeschool? An Orientation packet is basic information or training that is given to people starting a new job, school, or course. I think it is a very creative way to add something special to your homeschool.Read More
I know sometimes we’ve blown it as moms and mom guilt can be real but today we are going to ignore that voice that’s telling us that you are not doing enough, you are messing up your kids life, you are failing them, you are stopping their dreams, you are a horrible mother, you are making your kids, your life. You are too over protective, you need to spend more time playing with them and less time cleaning or working, you need to be more organized, you are ruining their education and future, the list can go on and on. Today I want to give you an update on my journey to becoming a minimalist. Wow! you never know just how much stuff you have in your environment until you pull out everything in your closed spaces like your drawer, bags, cabinets, garage, closets and storage areas.
This week I took six bags of stuff to the Goodwill and 2 bags to throw away, in the trash. All of that was hidden in my closed spaces inside of my home. This is just phase one of my decluttering process. I will do a second and third purge. My goal is to truly live with what we absolutely need and love. Click here to read more….Read More
One of the things I love about homeschooling is going on field trips. You are not limited to how many field trips you can take in a school year. We are part of an amazing co-op called Urban Stars where moms come up with amazing field trips to take our children on. We meet on Fridays, so most of our field trips are on that day unless I decide to take my kids on a field trip during the week. Click the link to read more!Read More

Math is the only subject I do not incorporate in my unit studies. I have a math curriculum for each one of my children. My little ones who are not reading yet or not reading fluently do have a reading and writing curriculum. In this blog I use real photos take a look……Click the linkRead More
Today I want to share with my homeschooling community how I keep my homeschool curriculum simple, fun, engaging, challenging and easy.
I used to think you had to have a curriculum for all 8 subjects. One for math, spelling, writing, history, science, art, reading and english(language arts, grammar).
That is probably fine, if you are homeschooling 1 or even 2 children, but when you are homeschooling more 2 than children, you probably want to keep it simple for your children and for yourself. click the link to read more…..Read More
Yes I was a homeschooling novice, when I homeschooled my daughter in the kindergarten, I dedicated the basement room to my daughter classroom and decorated the walls like her traditional classroom setting. I have learned since then that for me having to much of anything if it is not being used it is just plain hoader-ism. So I have adopted a new homeschool philosophy. I not only adopted it in my classroom but I adopted this principle in every area of my life. Keep it Simple! Click the link to read more….Read More
